Joseph L. Allen J.D.​

Co-Founder

Joseph Allen is currently the CEO of Six Maritime, a successful and internationally recognized maritime security company. He attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA; San Diego State University in San Diego, CA and Suffolk University in Boston, MA earning a Bachelor of Science in Geology, a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health and Juris Doctorate, respectively.

Mr. Allen began his professional career as an officer in the United States Navy, serving for a total of 18 years of active duty and reserve service holding several roles including: navigation officer, electrical engineering officer, communications officer and diving officer. He has worked as a research scientist striving to gain better understanding of storm water discharges and toxicity of contaminants in marine sediment. He was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego serving time as both a prosecutor and a civil litigator. In his current role as CEO of Six Maritime, Mr. Allen has worked with the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, several state and local authorities around the country, port and terminal owners, vessel owners and operators, thousands of maritime industry workers and countless private companies to help identify and mitigate maritime security threats posed to them from all sources. He currently resides in San Diego, CA with frequent travel to other domestic and international ports around the world. His current projects involve helping to design better fishery protection models for third-world nations as well as creating a new line of business focusing on the emerging cyber-security threats in the maritime domain.

Paul A. Robinson

Co-Founder

Paul A. Robinson, is one of the founders of the Company and currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer. Prior to founding Six Maritime, Mr. Robinson headed the Research and Development Acquisitions Department at Undersea Naval Special Warfare Group 3. Other notable assignments held during Mr. Robinson’s extensive career as a Naval Special Warfare/SEAL operator include: Chief of Operations and Training Undersea and Maritime with 165 subordinate operators and SEAL Team Chief of Operations, coordinating six 16-man forward deployed teams. A sample of his operational education includes: Special Warfare Sniper, Risk Management Coordinator, Risk Management Integration Leader, Certified Master Training Specialist, High Risk Instructor, Range Safety Officer, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Long Range Maritime Navigation, Stinger Missile Operator, Marine Mammal Systems Operator, Tasked Based Curriculum Developer, Drop Zone Safety Officer, Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL Training, BUD/S; numerous other training courses and positions held from his extensive experience as a Naval Special Warfare/SEAL operator for 25 years are available upon request. Mr. Robinson holds an active top secret security clearance with the U.S. Government.

Phil Gutierrez

VP of Business Development

His experience speaks for itself, even as a Commander in the Navy Security Forces he was still on the front lines leading the training, exercise teams, and operational assessment before sending Fleet assets on their deployments.

Mr. Gutierrez has overseen 7 years of civilian security guard operations since joining Six Maritime after he retired from the Navy where he garnered over 30 years of security expertise and security Program Management. Mr. Gutierrez retired (2017) as the Deputy Director of Antiterrorism and Force Protection (Fleet Security Officer) for the Commander, U.S. THIRD Fleet.

Other notable assignments held during Mr. Gutierrez’s career:

  • Commander Navy Region Southwest – Regional Security Officer;

  • Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet Antiterrorism Operation Officer (ATO);

  • Commander Riverine Group TWO Det Bahrain as Deputy Commander of Task Group 56.11 Operation Vigilant Mariner-Embarked Security Teams;

  • NAS Pensacola Security & Force Protection ATO Officer, and afloat USS Howard DDG-83;

  • Expeditionary Base; Camp Lemonier, Africa ATO, Commander.

Program Management of security, Antiterrorism/Law Enforcement Operations, Harbor Security,

Border Liaison: Training and Access Control for 11 U.S. and 8 overseas bases with direct responsibility and accountability for 300+ personnel under his command.

Tim Barelli

Advisory board

Tim Barelli is a senior advisor for Six Maritime’s Port Security and Maritime division. Tim is also the President of T.J. Barelli Consulting LLC, a boutique advisory firm based in San Diego specializing in global maritime operations and the application of multi-use cutting-edge ocean related technologies to address sources of maritime disorder.

He is a University Lecturer at U.C. San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy where he teaches a graduate course on maritime policy, security, and innovation.

Previously, Tim served as Sector Commander and Captain of the Port of San Diego, California, where he led all maritime operations to ensure the safety, security, law enforcement, and environmental protection in Southern California and east to the Colorado River, and inland navigable lakes of Arizona and southern areas of Utah and Nevada.

A Coast Guard Helicopter Instructor Pilot, he commanded thousands of homeland security, military, and humanitarian relief missions throughout the United States and Caribbean, to include flying in three historic hurricanes and responding to hundreds of search and rescue cases where he is personally credited with saving 182 lives at sea.

He also served as a Fellow in the U.S. Senate and advisor to the Chairman of the Commerce Committee, where he advised Senators and senior staff on maritime and oceans related policy and legislation.Tim is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and has master’s degrees from The National War College, Colorado School of Mines, and the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

Daine Eisold

Advisory Board

Daine Eisold is an expert in maritime security and intermodal cargo security operations with a deep history of management success in both the private and public sectors. He currently serves as the founder and CEO of CakeBoxx Technologies, LLC, a leading provider of innovative, high-security cargo shipping containers. Before founding CakeBoxx Technologies, he was the President and CEO of Cotecna, Inc., where he managed the global supply chain security line of business for the Cotecna Group, a trade facilitation industry leader based in Geneva, Switzerland. His significant public sector experience includes serving as General Manager of Cargo Security and Director of Maritime Security for the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the US Department of Homeland Security, where he was the senior executive responsible for development and implementation of air cargo, intermodal, hazmat and maritime security programs. He represented the TSA on multiple forums for transportation, supply chain and cargo security including IMO and the Technical Advisory Group to ISO working groupsTC8 N988- (ISO 28000 – Security Management Systems for the Supply Chain) and TC8 N987- (Best practices for custody in Supply chain security). Daine is a veteran with more than 20 years of active duty service in the US Navy, where he commanded three US Navy warships, served as the Chief of Staff for the Navy International Programs Office and was a Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Salve Regina University, and is a graduate of the US Army War College and Joint Warfighting School.

Captain Konrad is a USCG licensed Master of Unlimited Tonnage. Since graduation from SUNY Maritime College, he has operated a variety of ships from ports around the world. He is co-founder of Unofficial Networks, Editor In Chief of gCaptain, and author of the book Fire On The Horizon. His online magazine and web forum for ship captains is one of the largest such websites in the world.
